Dota 2’s prestigious tournament, The International, is rapidly approaching for 2024. This year’s event will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, with 16 teams set to compete for glory in September. The tournament has introduced a revamped format, including invites and open qualifiers, providing equal opportunities for all teams to qualify. Here is a list of the invites and qualifiers for Dota 2’s TI13 tournament in Denmark.

Invites

Six teams have received direct invites to TI 2024, marking the return of invites for the first time since TI7 over seven years ago. These invites were based on teams’ performances at events throughout the year, with a focus on major events featuring teams from various regions. Reigning champions Team Spirit are among the invited teams, with Team Falcons emerging as a top contender in 2024. Other invited teams include Xtreme Gaming, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, and BetBoom.

Regional Qualifiers

The remaining slots at TI13 were allocated based on each region’s performance in the previous year’s tournament. Notably, South America received two slots thanks to strong showings by TSM and nouns, while North America only has one spot available. Teams that did not receive direct invites had to compete in an open qualifier, with regions taking turns to determine their representatives. The Chinese and North American qualifiers were held in early June, followed by Eastern Europe and South America. The competition concluded with Western Europe and Southeast Asia by June 23.
